What makes a betting site "new" on this shortlist

Most lists of new betting sites in the UK quietly mix two very different things: brands that genuinely arrived in the last year or two, and household names that changed their welcome offer last week. We label them apart. Brands that went online recently are marked as new; established bookmakers sit in the same ranking, clearly labelled, so you can see whether a newcomer's offer actually beats the market.

There is a second kind of "new" that almost nobody shows you: new licences. Every British betting site needs a remote licence from the Gambling Commission, and the Commission publishes its register as open data. In the last 24 months 52 companies were granted their first remote betting licence, and another 18 existing licence holders added betting to what they already offered. Our new bookmakers tracker lists every one of them, month by month.

A new licence is not the same as a new brand. Midnite, for example, appears on the register under a company licensed in 2026, yet the brand has taken bets for years. The reverse happens too: a brand-new site can launch on a licence that is a decade old, because it belongs to an existing operator. That is what the "same stable" section above is for.

New sports betting sites by feature

A brand new betting site is rarely new underneath. Most new online bookmakers run on a platform that already powers other brands, so the features you get on day one, from cash out to a bet builder, depend on that platform more than on the name. The table sets the new sports betting sites on our racecard against the established names, feature by feature, using what each operator states on its own pages.

Betting features each operator states, recorded in our operator check. A dash means we have no record, not that the feature is missing.

Read the table as a shortlist filter rather than a verdict. If you mainly bet on racing, Best Odds Guaranteed matters most; on football, a bet builder and early payout do. Among the 2 new online betting sites of 2026 on our racecard, 2 state a bet builder, 1 lists an app on both iPhone and Android, and none state live streaming. Each sport has its own comparison: new horse racing betting sites, new football betting sites and esports betting sites, and the new betting apps page checks the apps themselves.

How to check a new bookmaker's UK licence

It takes under a minute, and it is the single most useful thing you can do before you deposit. Scroll to the footer of the betting site. A British licensee must name the company that holds the licence and show its account number. Then search that company or the site's domain on the register.

  1. 1Find the licence holder's name and account number in the site footer.
  2. 2Search it on the register, or paste the domain into our tracker.
  3. 3Check the licence is active and covers betting on real events.
  4. 4Check the domain you are on is one the licence holder lists.

The last step matters more than people think. Copycat sites borrow the look of a real bookmaker and sometimes even quote its licence number. If the domain is not on the licence holder's list, treat it as a different site.

How to read a new betting site welcome offer

Nearly every new bookmaker in our list leads with the same shape of offer: bet a small amount, get free bets back. The headline tells you very little on its own. Three lines in the short terms decide what it is worth to you.

TermWhat to look forWhy it matters
Minimum odds1/1 (2.00) or lowerHigher minimum odds push you towards bets you would not normally place.
Free bet typeAny market, or restricted to Bet Builders and accasA £10 Bet Builder free bet with four legs is much harder to land than a £10 single.
Expiry7 days or moreShort expiry means using the free bets on whatever is on that weekend.
Stake returnedUsually notA winning £10 free bet at evens pays £10, not £20.
WageringNone on sports free betsSince January 2026 any wagering is capped at 10x the bonus.

Our offer score divides the free bet value by the qualifying stake, so "Bet £10 Get £30" ranks above "Bet £20 Get £20", then the terms score takes off points for high minimum odds and short expiry. The full short terms sit under every listing, word for word, with a link to the operator's complete rules. The new betting sites offers page goes through each one in detail.

Payout times and PayPal at new betting sites

The payout column shows the window each operator states for withdrawals once a request is approved. We do not time withdrawals ourselves, and we say so rather than invent a number. Where an operator gives no window, the listing says "Not stated" and sorts last.

PayPal matters for two reasons. It is usually one of the quicker routes back to you, and it keeps your bank details away from a company you have only just met. Of the bookmakers in our racecard, only those marked "Yes" list PayPal for withdrawals in their payment terms. Our guide to fast withdrawal betting sites compares the stated windows in one table, and the PayPal betting sites page lists every operator that accepts it.

Other payment routes have their own comparisons. If you pay by phone, see Apple Pay betting sites and Google Pay betting sites; for payments straight from your bank, Trustly betting sites. Starting small? Our low deposit betting sites page shows why a £5 deposit rarely unlocks the welcome offer. And if you will mostly bet from your phone, the new betting apps page compares the apps, while new esports betting sites covers the bookmakers that price esports.

Signing up at a new bookmaker, step by step

Have your driving licence or passport ready before you start. British operators must verify your age and identity before you can deposit or bet, and the check is usually automatic. If it is not, you will be asked to upload a photo of your ID and sometimes a recent bank statement.

If betting stops being fun, the tools are there from the first day: deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion through GamStop. Our responsible gambling page lists the free support services in the UK.

How this racecard is put together

Each bookmaker is scored on five checks of equal weight: offer value, offer terms, stated payout window, PayPal withdrawals and whether its domain appears on the Gambling Commission register. The score runs from 1 to 5 and the order follows it, whatever a listing earns us. Offer and payment data were last checked on 15 Oct 2026; licence data comes from the register snapshot of 29 Oct 2026. We do not time withdrawals or test customer service, and the score says nothing about either. Read the full method.

Are all new betting sites licensed by the UK Gambling Commission?

Every site we list is. A bookmaker taking bets from people in Great Britain needs a remote betting licence from the Gambling Commission, and you can confirm one in seconds with our licence tracker. Sites that advertise themselves as "not on GamStop" hold no British licence, so they never appear here.

What counts as a new betting site?

We use two tests. A brand counts as new when it first went online in the last three years, and a company counts as new when its first remote betting licence was granted inside the last 24 months. Big names that only launched a new offer go in a separate table so nobody mistakes them for debutants.

What are the newest sports betting sites in the UK?

On our racecard the newest are QuickBet (online since 2025) and Bet442 (online since 2024). Each review names the company that holds the licence behind the brand. For every company granted a betting licence recently, including brands that have not launched yet, see our register of new UK bookmakers.

What are the top 10 betting sites in the UK?

We do not publish a top 10 of every UK bookmaker. Our racecard ranks 7 sites, new brands and established names together, by five equal checks: licence, owner, offer, payout and terms. The order and the scores are on this page, and how we rate explains each check.

Do new betting sites have to join GamStop?

Yes. Taking part in the national online self-exclusion scheme is a licence condition for every British online operator, so a self-exclusion you set up with GamStop covers a brand that launched yesterday as well.

Do new bookmakers offer better odds?

Sometimes, for a while. A newcomer needs a reason for you to open an account, and price boosts on big football fixtures are the cheapest way to give you one. Compare a few markets you actually bet on before you decide; a boosted headline price on one match tells you little about the rest of the book.

How do I check whether a new betting site is legitimate?

Scroll to the footer of the site and find the licence number, then search the company name or the domain on the Gambling Commission register. Our tracker does the domain search for you. If the site names no licence holder at all, close the tab.

Are withdrawals faster at new betting sites?

Not automatically. Newer platforms often support Open Banking and PayPal, which can be quick, but your first withdrawal still waits for identity checks. The payout windows in our racecard are the ones each operator states, not our own timings.

Why does a new betting site ask for ID before I bet?

Since 2019 British operators must verify your age and identity before you can deposit or place a bet. Having your driving licence or passport ready makes sign-up a two-minute job instead of a two-day one.

Can I hold accounts at several new betting sites?

Yes, as long as each account is yours and you are 18 or over. Many bettors keep two or three to compare prices. Welcome offers are limited to one per person, household or payment method, so a second account at a sister brand may not qualify.

What is the most I can be asked to wager on a betting bonus?

Since January 2026 the Gambling Commission caps wagering requirements at ten times the bonus, and a single offer can no longer mix betting with casino or bingo. Most sports free bets in our list carry no wagering at all; you keep the winnings, not the free bet stake.

What does "same stable" mean on this page?

It means several brands run under one licence holder. The register lists every domain a licence covers, so two sites with different names and colours can belong to the same company and share its customer service, payment processing and complaints procedure.

Can I use a credit card at a new betting site?

No. Gambling with credit cards has been banned in Great Britain since April 2020, for new and established bookmakers alike. Debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and bank transfers are the usual options.

How often is this page updated?

The licence data comes from the Gambling Commission register, last checked on 29 Oct 2026. Offers and payout figures were last checked on the date shown in each listing, and a listing changes as soon as an operator changes its terms.

Do you get paid by the bookmakers you list?

Some listings contain affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you open an account through them. That never changes the order: the numbers come from the same five checks for every bookmaker, explained on our methodology page.

What should I do if a new bookmaker will not pay out?

Use the operator's complaints procedure first and keep copies of everything. If that fails after eight weeks, every British licensee must offer an alternative dispute resolution service, such as IBAS, free of charge.

Is it safe to bet with a brand-new site?

A Gambling Commission licence means the operator has passed checks on ownership, funding and player protection, and it must hold your balance according to a declared protection level. That is a floor, not a guarantee of good service, which is why we also look at terms, payouts and who runs the site.
